I hope you're all excited for the long weekend festivities! What I love most about this holiday is that BY this point, summer is in full swing and there are so many fun options whether it's a backyard BBQ, a day at the beach or catching up with friends/family during a weekend away to celebrate this country's Independence. It's also a great excuse to look cute wearing some red, white and blue!

I'm a huge fan of white denim for summer, it's so chic and pairs well with many tops and can easily be dressed up or down. As a blazer lover, I can tell you that a classic one in navy is so versatile and adds such a polished look. This White House Black Market-inspired ensemble is the epitome of a classy July.4th outfit in my opinion. Although the blazer is dark denim, a more relaxed fabric, if you feel it would be a wee bit too dressy for a casual BBQ or family outing (in which case this navy tee along with these fringe + tassel sandals OR these strappy espadrille wedges would be the perfect complement to dress it down and still maintain the same color theme). In some cases, it could also make for an ideal casual Friday look if your workplace allows for that.

Living in Florida, it's not so practical for me to wear pants during the daytime in July (I was used to 70-85 degree summer days in Toronto) and by May and June here the thermometer shoots up well past 100 for weeks at a time, so denim and pants are generally an evening-only option. With so many of my readers living in other states that aren't quite so hot, I wanted to share this preppy and patriotic look. By changing out or eliminating the scarf and belt it can be worn over and over again with other great colors too such as a yellow clutch, Kelly green tee or even a hot pink blouse.

Here are some of my favorite red, white & blue dresses and more for the 4th and beyond:

If you follow our Facebook community then you may have seen me share 'the one + only hairstyle you'll need this 4th of July weekend'! It's the perfect fuss-free solution to beating the heat and still looking stylish. If you haven't seen it, you'll want to take a peek here as I linked to the step-by-step guide to recreate the look which can be worn with any outfit.

With Paul away for work, it's just us girls for the holiday weekend so we're heading to our favorite park for a picnic followed by fireworks in the Disney area at night. I'll definitely be doing a little online shopping later today while Lily takes her afternoon nap as Ann Taylor is currently running a sale for an extra 60% OFF their sale styles AND 40% OFF full price styles through 07/04 w/ code: JULY40  and White House/ Black Market has it's very 1st semi-annual sale up to 40% OFF both marked down and select full price styles using code: 62787 right now also!! One last sale to note, if you love this classic polished style for work or weekend wear, this site (which has always been a personal favorite for professional clothing) is having a 50-70% OFF right now also and you won't want to miss it!
